I am a kid who stands awestruck in the middle of a starry night amazed at the sempiternal vastness of the sky appreciating the brobdingnagian numbers of glittering stars so far away. Nature, in its physical & biological existence in all life forms is just like a magic to me and anything that tends to give justification and description of this magical existence tends to fascinates me.
They call me Tarun. I am a graduate student at the University of Montana-Missoula. I did my Masters in Human Genomics at National Center for Human Genome Studies & Research, Panjab University, India. I am abig Harry Potter fan who is interested in learning more about life, cultures, languages and traditions.
Following words by Francis Collins can only best describe my quest:
If you are somebody like myself, who has both scientific and spiritual worldview, who sees that the universe only makes sense if you postulate a creator, that when you are doing science and discovering how the universe is working, you’re also getting a glimpse of God’s mind.
Science, for me, is a quest to understand life. How a highly complex, yet so dynamically plastic and intelligent system – a biological cell – works? What makes it “alive”? How do these tiny intelligent systems coordinate and communicate to make an whole organism! [you can read my theories and queries about Life: here]. As I understand biology more and more, my belief in a “creator” grows. I find peace when I am walking alone through evening shades or just sitting ideally exploring the tranquility of hills and rivers. I have a strong appreciation for the Nature and the amazing things it can do.
As much as I am fascinated with origin or life and evolution, I am equally enthusiastic about innately programmed behaviors. I like watching Lonely Planet and Garfield cartoons! I love to learn new languages, cultures and traditions and make friends from all walks of life. I like exploring places of historical, archeological and spiritual interest. For those who share the same passion, I highly recommend visiting the Archeological Survey of India:
I have another blog (SISR) at blogspot [No more actively maintained] which focus more on scientific news. I shall use this blog to share with you my experiences on my continuous voyage to understand Life from various prospectives.
